I first met Nick Hackworth when he was an independent art critic, writing for newspapers and contributing to museums. Even then, his ability to see beyond the obvious and understand the layers of meaning in a work of art stood out.
When Nick launched Paradise Row, a contemporary art gallery with a bold and uncompromising vision, I recognised both the cultural value and the entrepreneurial spirit behind it. I decided not just to back him financially, but to join as a partner, believing in his ability to shape important conversations in contemporary art within a rich cultural and historic context.
From that collaboration, Modern Forms was born, a platform dedicated to acquiring, donating, and collaborating with artists and institutions around the world. Today, Nick leads as Curator, his sharp eye, deep knowledge, and fearless approach helping to build a collection that reflects the complexity and energy of our times.
